CONTEST RULES
Campbell’s® Dinner’s Even Easier! Contest
1. “Contest Period” starts at 5:00pm on November 4, 2009 and continues until 11:59 p.m. ET on December 31, 2009, the “Contest Closing Date”. No purchase necessary. Only one (1) entry per person. Any attempt or suspected attempt to enter more than once per person, any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or entry methods not authorized by these rules, shall be deemed as tampering and will void all of your entries. All times are Eastern Standard Times. This Contest is sponsored by Campbell Company of Canada (“Campbell”), and Rogers Publishing Limited (“Rogers”) collectively hereinafter referred to as the Contest Sponsors. 2. (a)To enter, go to www.chatelaine.com/campbellscookingcontest (“Contest Website”) submit your recipe in the categories provided and complete the entry ballot in full, attach a photo in .jpg or .gif format (not to exceed 2MB in size) taken by you of the final prepared dish, and submit it as instructed by the Contest Closing Date. The recipe submitted must use a Campbell’s® Easy Cooking Sauce product. Recipe must be original (an original recipe is one of own’s mind and not copied or published anywhere and not have won any other awards) or a Campbell-published recipe with your own twist. Your recipe must include: recipe name, a complete list of ingredients, exact measurements and preparation instructions. Ingredients must be readily available in Canada. Entries must also include a photo you take of the final prepared dish (in .jpg or .gif format not to exceed 2MB in size). The Contest Sponsors reserve the right to modify or edit the recipe and photo, and may publish in any media whatsoever without the consent of the entrant.
All recipes must be approved by a Moderator before being posted to the gallery for voting. Once approved, entrant will receive an email confirmation stating recipe was approved, uploaded successfully along with a direct link to share with friends to vote. Any recipes that do not meet requirements will not be approved/ uploaded.
By entering and uploading a photo in the Contest, each entrant agrees to assign all rights, title and interest (including copyright) in and to the photo entered to the Contest Sponsors and waive any and all moral rights in the photo in favour of the Contest Sponsors. Contest Sponsors may, in their sole discretion, elect to use, in whole or in part, any photo entered into this promotion for their own future advertising and/or promotional activities, without notice or compensation; and that the person submitting same has no further copyright or similar claim. Each entrant warrants to the Contest Sponsors and their agents, parent, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, divisions, prize suppliers, the independent contest organization, and promotional and advertising agencies and administrators that the submission does not contravene or infringe on anyone else’s copyright or other intellectual property, is not false, inaccurate or misleading and does not violate any law or regulation; is not libelous, threatening or harassing; does not instigate others to commit illegal activities; and does not contain pornography; does not contain any viruses, worms, or other computer programming intended to or that could interfere with the ability of others to enjoy the Contest Website.
(b) All recipes will be posted online at HYPERLINK "http://www.chatelaine.com/campbellscookingcontest" www.chatelaine.com/campbellscookingcontest and the general public will be able to vote on their favorite recipe between November 4 2009 and December 31, 2009, the “Voting Period”. Each recipe may be voted upon once per email per week. The top three (3) recipes with the highest number of total votes, by the end of the Voting Period, will be deemed as “Finalists”, in a case of a tie situation the tied entries will be re-judged by an additional judge to determine the Finalist. These three (3) Finalist’s recipes will be prepared and a panel of Judges from Campbell will taste them. The potential Grand Prize winner will be the recipe chosen by the judges as best tasting. The remaining two (2) Finalists will be eligible to win the Second Prizes. In case of duplicate entries only the first entry will be accepted. The winner may be required to sign an affidavit and release certifying among other things, on information and belief, that his or her recipe has not been published (or is a modified Campbell recipe), is of his/her own creation or won a prize previously.
(c) Winning entrant will be notified by email or phone call on or before February 1, 2010. (d) If a selected entrant cannot be reached within Five (5) business days following the winning selection, fails to correctly answer the mathematical skill testing question, declines the prize, or fails to return a Release of Liability and Publicity as specified below, the entry will be void and the Finalist submitting the recipe having the next highest score will be chosen as the potential Grand Prize winner.
3. (a) Participants are eligible to win:
One (1) Grand Prize, which consists of the recipe being published in an issue of Chatelaine and on the CookWithCampbells.ca website and a cheque for $1,000 cash intended to be used to offset the price for groceries.
One (1) of two (2) Second Prizes, each having an approximate retail value of $24 and consisting of a 2-year subscription to Chatelaine or Châtelaine, at the choice of the Finalist. (b) Prize must be accepted as awarded and may not be transferred or exchanged. The Contest Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize of at least equal or greater value in the event of the unavailability, for whatever reason, of the advertised prize.
4. To be declared a winner, selected entrants must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question posed by telephone at a mutually convenient time; and may also need to return a signed release of liability, publicity (where legal) and acknowledgment form. Contest judges' rulings are final and without appeal in all matters related to the Contest and the awarding of prizes.
5. By entering this Contest, all entrants consent to the use of their entry, name, city of residence and any photograph of or that may be taken in publicity carried out by the Contest Sponsors and its advertising agencies, without further notice or compensation.
(a) The Contest Sponsors may, in their sole discretion, elect to use, in whole or in part, any recipe and/or photograph entered into this Contest for their own future advertising and/or Competition activities, through Campbell’s or Rogers global counterparts, without notice or compensation; and that the person submitting same has no further copyright or similar claim.
6. This Contest is open to residents of Canada who are of the age of majority in their province or territory of residence and excluding employees of the Contest Sponsors, their parent and affiliated companies, representatives, dealers and agents, Contest suppliers and judges, and those with whom they are domiciled. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.
7. No communications except as specified in these rules will be entered into except with selected entrants. For the names of the winners, please send a self addressed stamped envelope, postmarked by April 30, 2010, to: Contest Administrator, Campbell’s Dinner’s Even Easier! 8.Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. All entries that are incomplete, illegible, damaged, irregular, have been submitted through illicit means, or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of the rules may be disqualified by the Contest Sponsors. Contest Sponsors take no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdirected, late or destroyed entries, or for typographical or other production errors. Contest Sponsors are not responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising this Contest. All entries become the property of the Contest Sponsors and will not be returned.
9.Contest Sponsors are collecting personal data about entrants for the purpose of administering this Contest. No further informational or marketing communications will be received by entrants unless entrants provide Contest Sponsors with explicit permission to do so as indicated on the entry form. 10. By entering this Contest, entrants release and hold harmless the Contest Sponsors, their advertising and Contest agencies and the Contest judge(s), their affiliates and respective directors, officers, owners, partners, employees, agents, dealers, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively the “Releasees”) from any liability in connection with this Contest or, if declared a winner, the prize. Before being declared a winner, entrants may be required to sign and return, within a stipulated period of time, a Declaration of Compliance with the Contest Rules and a full Liability and Publicity Release. By accepting a prize, winners consent to the use of their name, place of residence, voice, statements, and photographs or other likenesses for publicity, advertising or informational purposes in any medium or format without further compensation or notice.
11. This Contest will be run in accordance with these rules, subject to amendment by Contest Sponsors. Contestants must comply with these rules, and will be deemed to have received and understood the rules by participating in the Contest. The terms of this Contest, as set out in these rules, are not subject to counter-offer, except as set out herein. 12. (a) Contest Sponsors assume no responsibility for failure of the internet or the website during the Contest Period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the Contest.
Contest Sponsors reserve the right, in its sole discretion, subject to the authority of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec, to cancel, suspend or otherwise modify this contest, cancel any method of entry or void any entries submitted fraudulently should unauthorized human intervention, or other causes corrupt administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper operation of this Contest. In the event of cancellation, Contest Sponsors may elect to identify the winner and award the prizes by way of random drawing from among all non-suspect, eligible entries received up to the time of such cancellation. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Contest Sponsors reserve the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. In the event of cancellation, the Contest Sponsors may, in its sole discretion, elect to identify winner and award the prizes by way of random drawing from among all non-suspect, eligible entries received up to the time of such cancellation.
(b) If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The individual assigned to the e-mail address for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address is considered the authorized account holder. A selected entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the selected entry. All entries must be submitted from a valid e-mail account that may be identified by reverse domain name search. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid entry in this Contest will be the Contest server machine(s).
13. For Quebec residents, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity Contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties to reach a settlement. Any applicable decision to be made by Contest Sponsors affecting the conduct of this Contest are subject to a ruling of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec.
