CONTEST RULES
Chatelaine 80th Anniversary
ROGERS PUBLISHING LIMITED

• Contest starts at 12:01 pm ET on April 1, 2008 and continues until 11:59 pm ET on June 30, 2008 the Contest Closing Date.   No purchase necessary.  Only one (1) entry per person.  Earn an additional entry for each friend you refer by using our tell-a-friend feature, up to a maximum of five (5).

(a) To enter, do one (1) of the following:

• go to www.chatelaine.com/anniversarycontest complete the entry ballot in full and submit it as instructed by the Contest Closing Date.
• Visit the Lifefest show (the Event) on April 4 – April 6, 2008 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto.

                 
      (b)  A random draw by a representative of Rogers Publishing Limited ("Rogers") the Contest Sponsor from all eligible entries received as of the Contest Closing Date will be made at approximately noon on July 3, 2008 at One Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, Ontario.  Selected entrants will be contacted by telephone or email, as set out on the entry form.
      (c)  If a selected entrant cannot be reached within 10 days following the draw, incorrectly answers the skill-testing question, declines the prize, or fails to return a Release of Liability as specified below, another entrant will be selected.

• (a)  Participants are eligible to win one (1) of three hundred and ten (310) 80th Anniversary prize giveaways as described below:

      Where there is more than one (1) prize listed above, the winner will only receive one (1) of the said prize.

            For the Breville Prize package:

Coffee for one (1) year to include two (2) packages per month for twelve (12) months. Twenty four (24) packages in total.

For the Mirage Paper Co Prize package:

Reserves the right to substitute other ecojot products in the prize packs.

For the Fairmont Prize package:

• Prize certificates are non-transferable, not redeemable for cash and are void if sold for cash or other consideration.
• Prize certificate must be presented at time of check-in.
• Reservations are subject to availability and black-out dates or restrictions may apply. 
• Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and the hotel reserve the right to substitute alternative prize inclusions based on seasonality and availability.
• Guests must guarantee reservations with a credit card.
• All food & beverage, levies and taxes, any inclusions or activities not specifically described on the top portion of this certificate and/or any other incidental charges or gratuities are not included in this prize will be at the expense of the recipient, to be paid upon departure.

Certificates not used in the validity period will not be extended.

For the trip to Hong Kong from Hong Kong Tourism:

• Oasis Hong Kong Airlines Business Class tickets from Vancouver to Hong Kong & return;
• Eaton Hong Kong Hotel's five (5) night deluxe room accommodation with breakfast for two (2);
• The HKTB will arrange:

Offer valid until June 2009.  The actual value may vary depending upon the time of year of departure and originating airport.  Winner and travel companion are solely responsible for ground transportation, taxes, transfers, travel insurance, spending money, tips, meals and other travel and hotel charges not specifically mentioned as part of the prize.  Winner and travel companion are solely responsible for obtaining their own travel documents in advance of the departure date.  Rogers is not responsible in the event winner and/or travel companions are refused entry to destination country or re-entry to Canada for whatever reason and any unused portion of the prize will be forfeit.  Winner and travel companion must travel together on the same itinerary, and is subject to industry blackout dates and availability, failing which prize will be forfeited. Contest Sponsor does not assume responsibility for cancelled, delayed, suspended or rescheduled events after ticketing of prize for any reason whatsoever. The travel dates chosen are subject to availability.  Meals, Medical and travel related insurance is not included but is highly recommended.  This prize is non-transferable, not redeemable for cash and is non-refundable.  Air and hotel are based upon availability.  Sponsor reserves the right to select alternate air and hotel accommodation, if the arranged hotels or airline package is unavailable on dates selected.    In the event a prize winner is unable to redeem the prize as awarded; Hong Kong Tourism or any parties associated with this prize will provide neither compensation nor substitutions.

For the Opus Hotel Prize package:

Junior suite for three (3) nights say with breakfast included
Subject to availability; blackout dates may apply; not redeemable for cash.

Vancouver property:
Deluxe King Room for three (3) nights say with breakfast included
Subject to availability; blackout dates may apply; not redeemable for cash.  Winner is responsible for transportation to and from Montreal.
           
For the Vespa Prize package:

Colour of bike may vary.

The Vespa Prize will be delivered to the Vespa Canada dealership nearest the confirmed winner's home.  Please allow four – six (4-6) weeks for delivery.  The only warranties that apply to the Vespa Prize are those of the manufacturer.  Neither Sponsor will be responsible for any warranties relating to the Grand Prize.  The approximate retail value of the Vespa Prize (including freight/PDI) is $4999.00 (CDN). 
 
All other expenses not specifically mentioned herein, including vehicle insurance, licensing, registration, fuel and maintenance costs, taxes; personal expenses are the sole responsibility of the confirmed winner. Winner must have all necessary documents and safety equipment (including an operator's license*, vehicle license, insurance and a helmet) to pick up the scooter.  It is the winner's responsibility to arrange for pick up, at the winner's sole expense, of the scooter from the Vespa Canada location nearest the confirmed winner's home. 
 
* NOTE:  In Ontario, the operator of a Vespa LX50 must have either a motorcycle license or a class M license for limited speed motorcycles and mopeds.
 
If any part of the Vespa Prize is forfeited, then it will be re-drawn until a winner is confirmed. An eligible entrant will only be allowed to win one (1) Vespa Prize.

      (b)  Prizes must be accepted as awarded and may not be transferred or exchanged.  Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of at least equal value in the event of the unavailability, for whatever reason, of the advertised prizes.
 3.  To be declared a winner, selected entrants must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question posed by telephone at a mutually convenient time; and will also need to return a signed release of liability and acknowledgment form.  Contest judges' rulings are final and without appeal in all matters related to the promotion and the awarding of prizes.
 4.  By entering this contest, entrants consent to the use of their entry, name, city of residence and/or any photograph of or that may be taken in publicity carried out by the Contest Sponsor and/or their advertising agencies, without further notice or compensation. 
 5.  This contest is open to residents of Canada who are over the age of majority in their province or territory of residence excluding employees of the Contest Sponsor, its parent and affiliated companies, representatives, dealers and agents, contest suppliers and judges, and those with whom they are domiciled.  The contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.

 7.  Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries.  All entries that are incomplete, illegible, damaged, irregular, have been submitted through illicit means, or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of the rules may be disqualified by the Contest Sponsor.  Contest Sponsor takes no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdirected, late or destroyed entries, or for typographical or other production errors.  Contest Sponsor is not responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising this contest.  All entries become the property of the Contest Sponsor and will not be returned.
 8.  Contest Sponsor is collecting personal data about entrants for the purpose of administering this Contest.  Entrants not wishing to receive any other informational or marketing communications from Contest Sponsor should so indicate on the entry form.  Please see Rogers’ Privacy Policy at www.rogers.com for information on its policy towards maintaining the privacy and security of user information.
 9. By entering this Contest, entrants release and hold harmless the Contest Sponsor, its advertising and promotional agencies and the contest judge(s), their affiliates and respective directors, officers, owners, partners, employees, agents, dealers, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively the “Releasees”) from any liability in connection with this Contest or, if declared a winner, the prize.  Before being declared a winner, entrants may be required to sign and return, within a stipulated period of time, a Declaration of Compliance with the Contest Rules and a full Liability and Publicity Release.  Trip winner’s guest must also sign and return a Declaration and a Liability/Publicity Release prior to being ticketed or within such other period as Sponsor may specify.  Trip winner’s guest cannot be changed after the Declaration and Release are received. By accepting a prize, winners consent to the use of their name, place of residence, voice, statements, photographs or other likenesses for publicity, advertising or informational purposes in any medium or format without further compensation or notice.
10.  This contest will be run in accordance with these rules, subject to amendment by Contest Sponsor.  Contestants must comply with these rules, and will be deemed to have received and understood the rules by participating in the contest.  The terms of this contest, as set out in these rules, are not subject to amendment or counter-offer, except as set out herein.
11.  (a)  Contest Sponsor assumes no responsibility for failure of the internet or the website during the promotional period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion.  Contest Sponsor reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the email portion of this contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond their reasonable control corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws.  Should such an attempt be made, Contest Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. 
      (b)  If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant.  The individual assigned to the e-mail address for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address is considered the authorized account holder.  A selected entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the selected entry.  All entries must be submitted from a valid e-mail account that may be identified by reverse domain name search. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid entry in this contest will be the contest server machine(s).
